CT & GST TERRITORIAL RANGE, ANGUL:
Location:-
Office of the Joint Commissioner of CT & GST, Territorial Range, Angul has been functioning in the New Building situated near Rotary Public School, and in front of District Civil Supply Office ,Angul. since July 2017. The CT & GST Territorial Range, Angul is coming under administrative control of the Commissionerate of CT & GST , Odisha(at – Cuttack), under Ministry of Finance Department .
Under the Territorial Range,Angul two number of CT & GST Circles- One is CT & GST Circle,Angul having jurisdiction area of Angul District and CT & GST Circle, Dhenkanal having jurisdiction area of Dhenkanal District are functioning.There is also an Assessment Unit under CT & GST Circle, Angul functioning at Talcher. Besides , there is also an Investigation Unit functioning in the same building.
Objectives/ Activities:-
The main objective of the organization is to bring dealers into the tax net who reaches the tax liability limit , get them registered under CT & GST Act, monitoring return filing and deposit of admitted tax if due. Besides this audit , assessment , collection of arrear dues, disposal of case related to refund.
The main activity of the organization was administration and collection of indirect taxes under Odisha Sales Tax Act.1947, Odisha Value Added Tax Act.2004 , Central Sales Tax Act.1956, Odisha Entry Tax Act.1999, Odisha State Tax on Profession , Traders,Callings and Employments Act.2000 and Odisha Entertainment Tax Act.2006.
Since 1st July 2017 , the main work is coming under Goods and Service Tax Act.
